Darke County native Andrew Buck Michael ended a nearly 3 and a half year run serving at Meteorologist at WKEF and WRGT (channels 22 & 45) in Dayton at the end of August, meaning he will no longer appear on our local stations on a regular basis.
He announced via his blog (click here to check it out, or use the link in the left sidebar) that as of a couple of weeks ago, he has been working a new job in Columbus at WSYX & WTTE, (ABC6 & FOX28) also owned by Sinclair Broadcasting.
Andrew lists many memories that will stay with him from his days in Dayton, including:
"tracking funnel clouds and severe weather, to making it onto CNN for catching my camera while reporting on drifting snow, to standing in sub zero temperatures (not even including the wind chills), to all the fun competitions on the morning show(that I still think Meghan Mongillo rigged), and of course getting to meet many of you at the fairs, festivals, and Friday night football games."Buck has also contributed to DJ by always being generous with sharing forecasts and updates during severe weather season, as well as links to his blog (which will live on at the link above), so for that we are incredibly grateful.
Congratulations on the new gig, Andrew!
